Meet Your Hosts

Jeroen arrived from Holland in the late ’80s, travelled NZ, and settled here in Ngunguru as the coastline touched his soul. He was taught to dive by legendary Wade Doak, and started running dive boats out to the Poor Knights Islands. Kate arrived twenty years ago, ostensibly for the weekend, but the coastline tugged at her soul too and arrived on a Friday and she never left. Jeroen and Aussie (Kate’s dad) set up Dive! Tutukaka in 1999, using Jeroen’s existing dive businesses as the foundation.

  • We spent two nights at Lodge 9 and it was an absolutely beautiful place to stay after diving in the Poor Knights Marine Reserve. The Lodge is gorgeous, trendy, eco friendly, and such a great space to relax with friends.

I had organized to propose to my now-fiance while I was there and the whole team were fully supportive and helped me with organising everything.
